Customizing A Search

Some of the search screens that Paragon has, are customizable by you to suit your specific business needs and to allow you to make the best use of your time spent on the system. Your MLS has set up these search screens with fields that fit the majority of agents. But there are times when you will need to add/change fields to a search screen for a specific need for a Buyer or if you are creating a set of search templates and saving them for quick and easy searches in the future.

To Customize a Search:

Click the Customize Search button.

The Customize Criteria window displays. On the left will be all of the fields for the selected class, in alphabetical order. On the right, the 3 containers are the Primary, Secondary, and Advanced Criteria that can hold your choice of fields based on your priorities.

To Move Fields Up or Down within the Primary Secondary or Advanced Container:

  1. Highlight the field you wish to move by clicking on it within the container.

  2. Click the action button Move Up or  Move Down till that field reaches the desired location.

To Add a New Field to a Search:

  1. In the Find Box type the first part of the name of the field.

  2. It will appear in the list highlighted in blue.

  3. Click Add in the Criteria box you wish to have that field show up.

To Remove Fields from a Container:

  1. Highlight the field you wish to move by clicking on it within the container.

  2. Click remove for the Criteria box you wish to remove the fields from.

  3. If all of the fields are removed from a Criteria box, the box will no longer appear.

  1. When you are finished click Save and Close, your screen will refresh with the changes made.

Now the search screen is set the way you want it. If you want to use this set of search fields every time you run a search you will want to save it as your default for that class.  You may also want to save the specific search criteria for a specific buyer. See Saving a Search for instructions on these two ways to save a search.

Note:  Customizing a Search Screen is class specific. You will have to save your default set of fields for every class. Ex. Residential, Land, Commercial, etc.
